The collection features 23 new abstract artworks created from close-up sections of my original acrylic paintings, transforming individual paint splatters and moments of movement into bold standalone prints.
Over the last few years, I’ve often shared close-up photos of my paintings online to show the detail, texture and layers within my work – especially the spontaneous paint splatters and movement inspired by the action painting technique of Jackson Pollock.
As I continued building my collection and developing my website, I started exploring the idea of taking these close-up snapshots and turning them into a whole new body of work in their own right.

Rather than focusing on the finished portrait itself, this collection zooms in on the act of creation – capturing the energy, movement, spontaneity and unpredictability of real paint hitting the canvas.
Each artwork begins as a real close-up photograph taken from one of my original hand-painted acrylic artworks. I then digitally rework and refine these images into high-resolution compositions that can be enlarged into large-scale abstract prints while still preserving the raw texture and energy of the original painting.
A really important part of this collection is that these are not AI-generated artworks or digitally invented abstract designs.
They are created directly from real paintings, real paint, real materials and real moments of physical creation. I believe that in the current it is all to easy to undervalue the act of human creation.
You can see the different layers of paint interacting across the canvas, the random movement of the splashes, and in some pieces even the texture of the original canvas surface itself coming through the artwork.
In a time where so much art and imagery is becoming increasingly artificial and AI-generated, I wanted this collection to celebrate the physical process behind creating art – the movement, the materials, the unpredictability and the human energy involved in making something by hand.
The Splash Series also adds a whole new dimension to my collection as a whole.
While my portrait artwork remains the core of my work, this new abstract collection offers something slightly different for people who connect with my style, colour palettes and creative energy but may prefer a more abstract statement piece for their home or interior space.
The collection features 23 different colourways and compositions, each with its own distinct atmosphere and personality.
For instance, one of the pieces in the collection, Orange Splash, is taken from a close-up section of my Paul Weller painting from 2019 – which I think is really exciting, being able to revisit and reinvent part of an artwork years later and transform it into something completely new.
The series also includes a two signature multicolour artworks created from my hand-painted vinyl record pieces, incorporating elements of the original record labels and circular compositions into the final designs.
Seeing the first physical prints arrive from this collection has been incredibly exciting, especially seeing the splashes enlarged at scale and framed as finished artworks for the first time, and the impact these have.
The full Splash Series collection is now live on my website. Canvas prints are available in four different sizes, with free worldwide delivery. All of my prints fit standard frame sizes for easy and affordable framing.
